Being a stay-at-home-mom, I'm always looking for ways to save money. Having two kids and mountains of laundry, it made sense to try homemade laundry soap. I've been using the recipe below for a month now and love it! My clothes feel soft and smell great when they come out of the dryer.
The great thing about laundry soap is that everyone needs it. You can put it in a mason jar and tie a ribbon on it to give as a shower gift or holiday time. I know I wouldn't mind getting something like this as a gift!
1 box of Super Washing Soda (3 lbs 7oz)
1 box of Borax (4 lbs 12 oz)
3 bars of Fels Naptha (grated)
1 container of Oxy Clean (1.3 lbs)
1 container Purex Crystals (28 oz) or Downy Unstoppables (for scent)
Mix all ingredients together and use 2 Tbsp per load. Then use the money you saved making your own soap to buy more clothes!
