• My laptop is having some serious issues.  Last week it decided that starting was no long something it's interested in doing.  I took it to the big box store where I purchased it and was told that I likely know more about Macs than they do.  I'm not even kidding.  That particular store isn't Mac-certified.  We have to take it to a store 45 minutes away, which we will hopefully do this weekend.  I feel lost blog-wise without it.  For now I am working from the desktop, but I only use it when Gene is asleep.  Hopefully things will return to normal soon.

• Michael and I grew up in a small, rural town in the Midwest.  There are a lot of people who farm and a lot of people who hunt.  As a result, you often see a lot of overalls and camouflage.  My husband enjoys deer hunting, so he falls into the camouflage category.  Last weekend we were at Scheel's and bought Gene his first camouflage Columbia jacket.  Talk about a proud daddy!  He looks so cute in it, don't you think?

• We are still doing swimming lessons at the Y.  I think this will be our last session for a while.  The class isn't as much fun as it was during the summer.  We recently signed up for a membership at the Y, so we can continue to work on the skills.  He's doing really well.  He loves to jump in from the side of the pool (seated) and is starting to kick.  He doesn't like floating on his back, though. 

• I finally went and got a haircut last week.  The last time I went was October 12th.  That's right, a week before Gene was born!  I really needed it.  I got bangs... again.  I regretted it within two days... again.  It was worth it to let someone else wash my hair and to get it thinned.  I am blessed with thick hair and it was getting unruly.  I lost about 2" in length, but looks a lot shorter because it's thinner.

• My TV shows are back!  There's not much to say since House is no longer on the air.  We discovered How I Met Your Mother over the summer and are excited that it's back on.  Do Barney and Robin get married? WHO is the girl with the yellow umbrella?  So much suspense!  I also love watching Bones.  I'm glad that Bones and Christine are back but I'm not loving the tension between Booth and Bones.  I like their happy little family.  OH... and Grey's Anatomy is back!  That plane crash last year, WHOA.  It was weird seeing so many new faces.  Things are so different right now.  I won't spoil it if you haven't seen it, but I'm already wishing it were next Thursday so I could see what happens next.
