-- At 4:30 this morning I was startled awake by my husband, whose alarm had just gone off. At first I thought he was saying there was someone in our house (yikes!) but realized he said BIRD. I looked up and saw the distinctive flapping movements of a bat. I had Gene in bed with me and immediately pulled the comforter up to cover us. I'm so glad I had him with me, because Mike eventually captured the bat in a bed sheet in the nursery. He tossed the wadded up sheet, bat and all, out the window. Now, of course, we're paranoid that there will be more.
-- Gene slept through the bat situation, but farted and woke up 15 minutes later and has been wide awake ever since. He's currently bouncing off some energy so that hopefully we can go back to bed soon.
-- My cousin is here visiting this weekend from Missouri. He and the hubs went up to Chicago on Saturday to see a Cubs game. They said Wrigley Field was awesome to see. Of course, they froze. The forecast for the area said 70F, but they were lucky if it got above 55F. They asked me what the weather was like here and I had to tell them it was 85F!
-- Week #2 of the quilt-a-long will be up tomorrow! Are you ready? After this week your pile of blocks will become a quilt top! Don't forget, if you want your work to be featured here on Cheerful Homemaker, e-mail me a picture of your progress!
-- @mrskatereese of My Life as a Stay-At-Home-Wife sent me this photo of some of her blocks. I love her fabrics!

I've always been told that Wrigley is always cold because of the breeze off the lake. The times I've been I've always taken a jacket but never had to wear it. Yesterday looked like it got really cold too. I was scared we would freeze this weekend in KC before it got here and we ended up sweating instead!
ReplyDeleteUgh, whenever I go to Wrigley the weather is weird too! I hope they still had fun.
ReplyDeleteHappy you got the bat out, and in a safe way :)
