We had a lovely Christmas. It was great seeing our family and showing off our little man.
However...
That little man did not take a decent nap for two days. It. Was. Brutal. He was really fussy when he was awake because he knew he needed to sleep. When he was asleep, we tried to leave him in his car seat when we arrived at family gatherings. Unfortunately, people get a bit overzealous where new babies are involved.
Us: Shh! He's asleep. He hasn't napped all day.
Family: Okay we'll just leave him here... OH MY GOODNESS! HE. IS. SO. CUTE... Oh, look, he woke up! Let me hold him... Why are you crying? Do you want your mama? Here you go, Mama.
Don't misunderstand, we love our family. We were just a bit frazzled by all of the crying.
I found a photo on my camera that perfectly illustrates what Christmas Eve and Christmas Day were like for me...
Baby G is crying and I look bewildered, but check out that lovely bokeh on the Christmas tree!

Cute picture!! Although it was probably a lot less cute if you had to listen to him scream/crying!
ReplyDeletethat picture is awesome!
ReplyDeleteOh, my word, I totally relate and understand!!! I found the "worst offenders" to be the older ladies of the family...you'd think they'd remember having little babies who don't sleep! Great picture of you 2! I have one very similar from when my oldest was 1 :o)
ReplyDeleteOh gosh! That pic does seem to illustrate it perfectly!
