9 & 10

Pin It Now! My goal is to read 75 books before December 31, 2011.  Here's the list of books I've read so far:

1. Firefly Lane -- Kristin Hannah (January)

2. The Trials of the Honorable F. Darcy -- Sara Angelini (January)

3. Sundays at Tiffany's -- James Patterson (January)

4. The O'Hurley's Return* -- Nora Roberts (January)

5. Serena & Caine* -- Nora Roberts (January)

6.  This is Where I Leave You -- Jonathan Tropper (January)

7.  Marley & Me -- John Grogan (January)

8. The Wedding -- Nicholas Sparks (February)

9.  Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone -- J.K. Rowling (February)

10.  Black Heels to Tractor Wheels -- Ree Drummond (February)

February was a slow month for reading.  I blame the fact that I was in bed around 7:30 nearly every night this month.  I am officially behind, though, if I want to make my goal of 75 books before the end of the year.  I am also out of books in my house that I haven't read, hence book #9.  What are you reading?

This is the sequel to The Notebook.  I liked it.  It wasn't too sad, as most of Sparks' books end up being.  Like The Notebook, no one died at the end (seems to be a common theme in his books).

Don't believe me?  You think Noah and Allie head toward the white light together in bed at the end?  It's not true.  That's the sunshine movie version.  If I remember correctly, Allie is lucid at the end of the book and she and Noah get it on.  Read it for yourself.

25!!!

Pin It Now! This is my 600th post.  In honor of it, I think we ought to celebrate.

What are we celebrating?

My 25th birthday!!!

That's right, kids, yours truly here is celebrating a birthday today.  I have officially reached the 1/4 century mark.

Doesn't my insurance go down now?

Mystery Solved

Pin It Now!
After the last couple of big snows, I've come home from work and noticed that someone has come down our sidewalk with a snow thrower.  I could never figure out who did it.  I know the guy at the end of the street has one, so I thought it might be him.

I was wrong.

This is Sally.  She lives two houses down from me.  If I had to guess her age, I would guess somewhere around 55 or 60.  Yet here she is, moving a LOT of snow off of my sidewalk.

I should bake her cookies.
