The list of things we need for the baby is growing smaller and smaller. Today we bought a couple of the bigger items.
Our most important purchase of the day?

Our travel system! I'm fairly certain the hospital won't discharge the baby unless we have a car seat, so this was an important purchase. I like the colors. There was a teal polka dot one that caught my eye, but it was $70 more. Baby gear is expensive enough as it is.

We also picked up this swing! We wanted one that you could turn the seat so that it could rock forward and backward or side to side. Hopefully it's tall enough that the dogs won't try and jump into it with our little guy. After seeing him sleep in the toy basket, it wouldn't surprise me to find Re-Pete in this.
Both items are already assembled. We're hoping to get the dogs used to seeing them around so they can get their curiosity out of their systems. We also want them to get used to the sounds the swing makes so that the baby can lounge in the swing without the dogs going nuts. We'll see how that goes.
I assembled the travel system. No, it was not difficult, but I'm proud of myself nonetheless. I'm not sure what we're going to do with it until the baby gets here, though. For now it's parked in the dining room. Mike keeps asking the puppies if they want to try it out. It was adorable watching him figure out how everything on it works.

Try putting aluminum foil in the swing. If they jump in it, they will get freaked out and never jump in it again. Someone suggested it to us, and it worked with our cat and the rocking chair :).
ReplyDeleteIs that a Safety First? I think that's the new version of ours. We LOVE it. C is still in the infant seat for the car (but we don't carry him in it, hefty hefty!). It's saving us time until we MUST buy a convertible one.
ReplyDeleteAlso love our Lamb Swing which is the same as the one you got only furry. Never replaced the batteries and we used it daily for several months. C wasn't a fan of the side to side, but each little one is different! He liked front to back best but we'd turn him depending on where we were in the room! You'll LOVE it. Music also isn't annoying. Big plus!
