10 Weeks

I am finally in the double digits as far as weeks go.  I am 10 weeks pregnant today!

That means that I am 25% of the way through this pregnancy!

So what's up with my little jelly bean this week?

According to What to Expect, my baby is currently the size of a prune, has the beginnings of knees and elbows, and is developing teeth (under the gums, of course!).

Also, my little blob is no longer an embryo.  I am now the proud mama of a fetus!  

I had a second ultrasound at 8 weeks 4 days to confirm my official due date.

 

 The first words out of Dr. M's mouth when he pulled this shot up were, "It looks like a baby!"  Being the comedienne that I am, I told him I thought it looked more like a gummy bear.  In reality, it was actually pretty close in size to a gummy bear than a baby in this photo.

Looking at the photo, the baby's head is on the right and the caboose is on the left.  Dr. M says this is a posterior view, which means the baby is essentially mooning the camera.  Since I'm no ultrasound technician, I will take his word for it.

How about an update on me?  I feel just fine.  Some people act as though I am some sort of medical anomaly because I have suffered from ZERO morning sickness or nausea.  I think I'm just lucky.  

I am down about 7lbs from what I weighed when I found out I was expecting.  I haven't vomited, but I haven't been very hungry.  Since I'm overweight to begin with, my doctor is fine with it and promises that it will all come back soon plus some (what a swell guy, right?).

I'm sure if you ask my husband, he will tell you I've been a hormonal mess.  He manages to make me cry at least once a week because he's trying to tease me.  I'm definitely not as patient as I used to be.

I've also had to go shopping for larger bras.  Let me tell you, as someone who has had issues with my weight for most of my life, buying larger clothes is pretty upsetting.
