Pin It Now!
Our house has three bedrooms -- our room, a guest room, and a third bedroom/sewing room/office. Here's what it looked like when we moved in:
It is currently an ugly peach color that really needs to go, but I'm not sure what color to do in there instead. Any thoughts? Ideas? Bueller?
When we remodeled our bathroom [which I know I have yet to show you pictures of -- sorry!], the third bedroom became sort of a catch-all room for anything and everything that we needed to get out of the way. Now, I'm sort of shocked that I'm going to show you this [my husband will have a stroke when he sees this], but I'm all about being honest and want you to know how much progress has been made. Here's what it looked like Tuesday afternoon when I started cleaning:
This is looking straight in from the door. A lot of the stuff on the floor is tools and such from the bathroom remodel. The big white table is my sewing table that I bought last summer.
Those boxes you see? Those are from when we moved in. It's stuff that we don't use that we never unpacked. The white drawer thing has a lot of office supplies. This is where my fancy-schmancy computer table used to be. And by computer table I mean 4' plastic folding table. Yes, I am that classy.
Here's looking toward the closet. On the right is the old bi-fold door for our linen closet and our bathroom door, which has since been put back on, thanks to yours truly. The box on the left is trash that needs to be taken out. It's actually still sitting in the clean room, but that's because I could barely move by the time I got to that area.
Whew! That's enough of that mess. Here's the room now:
Here's where the exercise ball used to be. The black mass on the right is a garbage bag ready to go outside. The top right corner is where my desk will go when we finally get around to buying one. I've picked it out, but we haven't been to the store to pick it up. Just a hint, the store it's located at rhymes with schm-ikea.
Here's looking back toward the closet. Oh, and there's my wonderful assistant, Penelope. She was oh-so helpful during the entire process. She can lay in a tiny spot of sunshine like it is nobody's business. And when I was in so much pain I lay myself on the floor, she was there giving me kisses, letting me know she was there for me. Oh yeah, she's got my back.
I really want to look under the carpet, but Michael says no. I know that there is hardwood under that ugly Berber, but I'm not sure what condition it's in. We've talked about getting a comfy chair for the corner in the picture above to have sort of a reading area. It still needs a little bit of a face-lift. A new paint color would be fabulous, as well as a new light fixture. Because of where it's located, we can't put in a ceiling fan, but the brass light has got to go.
Anyway, I guess there's a little tour of Bedroom #3. Maybe one of these days you'll get to see the rest of the house!
