1. I saw Half-Blood Prince last Thursday with Michael. This was definitely my favorite movie thus far. It was so well made and followed closer to the books than the others. I was nice enough to tell Michael the end before the movie started, which he did not appreciate (though, I do recall telling him of the ending on several other occasions, which he had obviously forgotten). Half-way through the movie, it occurred to me that I would see the end of the book played out on a gigantic movie screen. I get really emotional reading book six and watching it was no different. Yes, I cried.
My husband, being the sensitive guy that he is, looked over and asked if I was seriously crying at Harry Potter.
Then he farted.
It wasn't really loud and there weren't any people sitting around us, but it was part of the movie that was silent.
2. We've had cooler temperatures the last week or so, starting with last weekend. It has been SO nice outside! It's been in the 70's and lower 80's. I could live with temperatures like that year-round. It made work much more enjoyable. We actually had people wearing jackets in the mornings since it was below 60F. Of course, it's almost August, so temperatures will go up again.
3. Michael is turning the big 2-5 next week. He's going to be so old! I still haven't found anything to get him for his birthday. We went to Sonic today (which is a 45 minute drive) and stopped at the mall across the street. I told him how much I was planning to spend on his gift and asked him to pick something out. The problem is, he doesn't want anything.
Scratch that.
He wants a truck.
I obviously cannot afford that. So the gift search continues. It may take me to Bergner's tomorrow, where I am told they have really cute dresses on clearance.
Oh. I suppose my husband wouldn't be interested in that. I could buy myself one to wear on his birthday when we go out to dinner. Looking nice is a good gift... right? Bueller?
4. The puppies are so-stinking-cute! They all have their eyes open, they can walk, and they've been playing with each other. Oh, and they give kisses! Cute, cute, cute.
They also have names! We have Carlos, Carmen, Rosita, and Maria. How cute are those? They're chihuahuas, so I decided to give them more Hispanic sounding names.
Oh, and there have been no new pictures. They are definitely suffering from second-litter syndrome. My mom pointed this out today. I'm a bad dog-mommy. Well... I guess in this case I'm a dog-grandma. I'll work on it, I promise!
5. Thanks for your advice on the mop situation. I have a Swiffer and I really like it. It's great for small, day-to-day messes. However, we had a little momma with a tummy ache and needed something a little more heavy-duty for our kitchen floors. We ended up getting the Libman mop since the head can go in the washing machine. Fortunately, the issue has since passed.
6. We're finally almost unpacked! We finally have all of the random boxes out of the living room and dining room. This evening we went through the boxes in the third bedroom and it almost looks like more than a storage room. We're hoping to use it as an office/reading room. We're looking for an affordable futon so that we have both a sitting area and an extra bed in the event that we have several people stay with us at once.
