Lucky Day!

Today is a lucky day.

I mean, it is St. Patrick's Day after all, shouldn't everyone have a little luck on this day? I know that I, personally, felt as though today was my lucky day.

First, I woke up to the sound of birds chirping outside my window, rather than to the obnoxious sound of my alarm clock (it was two minutes before it was set to go off, but it still counts). I could already tell that it was going to be a beautiful day since the birds sounded so cheerful and happy.

When I took the pooches outside a few minutes later, something amazing happened.

Let me back up a little. We live on a second floor apartment with little dogs. It was cold this winter. Life was much easier when we decided to potty pad train our new puppy. He's a rock star with it. Of course, now we would like for him to go outdoors most of the time so that he's on the same schedule as the other dogs.

So anyway, I take the three dogs outside for their morning business. Wally was walking around funny, which I assumed was the pee-pee dance. Oh, no no, it was much better than that. He went #2! I know, it's an overshare, but this is a big deal! It was a good day in our little dog world.

I was going to tell a story about being lucky at work today, but it's actually a little boring, especially compared to what's below.

You'll remember that last week we went and looked at houses and found one that we really liked. We made another appointment to see it Saturday after I got off of work. We loved it just as much as we had the first time, if not more. So we thought things over for a couple of days and decided to make an offer.

We met with Rebecca Monday evening to fill out the paperwork. We countered back and forth several times over the next few hours. We finally decided to think about things until this morning. We decided to put in our final offer and did so on Tuesday around noon. A little after 1PM, my cell phone rang. Of course, I was at work and couldn't answer it. I recognized it as our realtor's phone number. Several minutes later, my phone went off again, though this time it was a text message. Michael let me know that they had accepted our offer!

Of course, it's a little tough to be really excited about this after what happened with the last house. Once we know that we're getting it for sure, I will morph into a different person. I will clean and pack 24/7 until there is nothing left to clean and pack... and then I will wait six more weeks until we actually get to sign the papers and move in.

Here's a horrible photo I took on Saturday. I was in a hurry to get back to the car and failed to actually line my photo up. Hopefully I'll be able to post better photos soon!

  1. I hope it all works out!! That porch would be so pretty with a white porch swing and some wicker furniture!
