I know, it's not the nicest title, but it fits, okay?
I woke up this morning and had my first official weigh-in (after my initial weigh-in, of course) and am happy to report the results here!
Starting Weight: 206.6 lbs
Current Weight: 202.6 lbs
Total: Loss of 4 lbs!
Starting BMI: 30.5 (obese)
Current BMI: 29.9 (overweight)
Whoo!
I realize that this is mostly because I ate less this week and made slightly more healthy eating choices. I didn't make it to the gym once. I also realize that not all weeks will have numbers that high (bummer!). I would love it if I could continue each week with a 1 to 2 lb loss, though any loss is great!
To Sarah, thank you SO much for the comment you left last night. I needed it! Talking about how I need to lose weight and that I lost 4 lbs this week is one thing, but posting my weight was one of the scariest things I've done lately. Your comment really helped make me feel better about my decision to be open and honest!
And to all of the other people who have commented so far -- THANK YOU!

What a great start! It seems like our bodies are really receptive to change in the beginning of a diet, and we are often rewarded by a large loss. It is good that you have a healthy weekly goal in mind :)
ReplyDeleteKeep up the good work! I hope you have time to make it to the gym this week :)
That's great Etta! Ok - I'll jump on the band wagon, too. I can't go to a gym... but I can do some things around the house. We have Wii Fit, though I really don't use it cuz my dad's always here and I HATE comments from the peanut gallery, ya know? UGH. Ok. I'm off to weigh myself and then to post on my blog.... dammit haha. Kidding. You and Aimee convinced me, I need to do this.
ReplyDeleteHooray!! It's amazing what that four pounds can do...bringing down your BMI is great! :)
ReplyDeleteAnd thanks for my little shout-out. *hehe* I'm looking forward to being able to support you through your efforts. I know you're gonna do great!
Awesome job!!! You are almost out of the 2's! I can't wait to get there. I am trying to watch what I am eating too. Maybe we can motivate each other! :)
ReplyDeleteI did it... I posted the ugly numbers LOL. I am going to weigh every Friday and post... whether the number goes up or down. I have no official plan, yet. I'll work on that, though :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the motivation and I look forward to supporting each other :D
Congrats on the weight loss. Everything that I've read says that the average (healthy) weight loss is 1-2 pounds per week, so I think your expectations are right on the mark! Just think how much more you could loose with exercise, too! It's hard to get started, but so worth it!
ReplyDeleteHey girl! I am SO proud of you! It's not an easy thing...that is for sure.
ReplyDeleteI wish I had advice for you...lol but obviously I am struggling myself. So...just keep your chin up and remember that you are not alone!!!
love ya!
